| Best of luck, looking forward to part 2. Perhaps we should start the poll now though, "Which limbs are the best, Hoyt Oryx or W&W Buffalo" |

| LOL, good effort - thanks for sharing this with us. There's a pic in one of the bowyer's bibles which shows how to tie a not onto a tapered limb (which would not nessessitate cutting nocks). I'll see if I can get it on here for you. Rgds, Dave |

| Day two. #### ups a-go-go! Damage control & the MkII riser... Well, the pics from session 2 are going to have to follow. The Wife has gone out & taken the camera with her Today was a bit of a flop & a lot of damage control. The Yew riser I made isn't long enough to go into the horns securely, so I've basically had to start from scratch! I tried a very gentle flex of the bow & due to my impatience, lack of experience & very shaky knowledge of the leverage laws of physics, the top limb broke out a flake from the bottom of the horn Still, lesson learnt. The Mark II version has a straighter grip, longer inserts into the horns & is made from solid Mahogany. Oh, and it doesn't have a shelf, so I can shoot it as Primitive ![]() I've cut out the pieces of horn that broke yesterday, rather than just sinewing them & reshaped the belly side of both horns. (Sorry you're having to imagine all this at the moment, I'll put pics in the proper places tommorrow morning ) I've taken the horn off at an angle at the belly side, to reduce stress in that area. When the horns are glued & bound in place there should now be very little pressure on the lower belly.Tommorrow should hopefully see a finished riser & a tillering tree all made up & ready for action! (If I get the limbs glued on, that is, & don't break anything else in the process! ![]() )

| Dat two pics.... YEY! Jules came back with the camera, so here's the pics.... New riser, much longer into the horn than the original..... ![]() The cut off horn ends, removing the damage..... ![]() ![]() Fitted to the riser (just loose for now)..... ![]() ![]() It's all coming together! .....![]() ![]() Next job is to glue & bind it all together, build a tiller tree & straighten & reflex the limbs. More to follow!
