took my new 40lbs long bow to my club

i took my new long bow to my club its 40 lbs. all my mates that use long bows looked at it and like it, lots of my mates had a go to, getting used to the kick in my wrist was a little shock. (only 79 pounds)
it was so cool shooting at 20M, i got to see my arrow flying so quietly in the air, lovely fight. and when i was told about looking with both eye open at up right red on the target i got attested 1 in the gold each time out of 5 arrows best was 3 gold and 2 close to gold. on a target that fills a boss, the big 1.
it was funny i had a hard time sleeping last night as i wonted to go and use it, i was told that if you pull and hold for a bit then release it flays differently to if you pull and release quickly and the arrow dose fly differently.
i had a go at trying to do as many arrows as i can as fast as i can and they all hit the boss yay, I'm so bitten by the bug i have given my club arrows in for my recove bow in and will keep it case my long bow brakes

Hi Teddybear. Sounds like you're having a great time with your longbow!! Can I make a suggestion? Perhaps you should start a blog to record how things are progressing with the longbow. That way all the information is in one place for you and everyone else to find.

Have fun and good luck

There's not much difference between this post and a blog entry. And it doesn't have to be for anyone but yourself, although plenty of newbies write blogs!!

Clicki's right about starting a blog - she's not blowing smoke. A lot of people enjoy reading them, and there are benefits to you and readers if you do this:
  • You'll have a record of your progress.
  • Over time, when you've forgotten the fears and thrills of new archery experiences, you can read back through it.
  • When you later get asked for some advice, you can refer back to the blog for how you solved a problem.
  • Experienced archers can experience a trip down Amnesia Lane and vicariously re-live their newbie days.
  • Over time, newer newbies than you will be able to read it and see themselves where they are now, and what they have to look forward to.
Might be worth giving it some thought?
