twisted longbow

Hi All one of our members has built a long bow, he has been shooting it for about nine months but has noticed that the arrow is marking the bow behind the arrow plate (which was not happening before ). I had a look at it and the upper half of the bow seems to be twisted to the right lamination visible on the right hand side looking from behind the string at the bow he is asking if there is any way to correct this as i don't know that much about long bows any suggestions would help if you pm me a contact number he could speak directly to somone who knows more than me thanks in advance.

Lightbulb i am no expert!!!!

As stated i am no expert, but i do remember reading( probably Bowyer's bible or 2) that a mild limb twist can be fixed by taking a small amount from the stronger side. So if the bow twists to the right take from the left etc.
I really would'nt want to be responsible for directing your friend jst in case it blew up on him, I have only just finished my frist working bow ( 53lb straight limbed hunter/ afb) after two spectacular failures.
Wish your mate good luck. It did'nt sound to far gone to fix a little caress with a cabinet scraper and he might be ok!
( I now stand my to be shot down in flames. On your marks,, SHOOT.)

I have managed to put a bow right after it developing a twist, but it may lose a little poundage. If you take some off the stiff side, you effectively take some off All the limb, so may also need to take some off All the opposite limb.

If the arrows are going where your friend aims them, then settle for a mild twist in the limbs. If it aint broke . . .
