| As I understand it.......it's to do with being able to more easily sight along the arrow............but then what do I know..? |

For me it's simply a case of corner of the mouth is totally consistent, there is not real margin for error. There is of course no "right" way of doing it, what is comfortable and more importantly repeatable is the always key. |

| The problem with the under the chin anchor is your point of aim becomes very long. EG my POA distance is 50 yards with second finger anchored to the corner of my mouth. If I anchor under my chin, recurve style, my POA would go up to about 100 + yards which would make it very hard to accurately find a gap for 20 yards unless you can find a spot on the riser to aim with. A lot of successful trad field archers use a combination of gap settings (sighting with the tip of the arrow in relation to the spot) and riser aiming points. Most of the targets on a field course are mid range shots so an anchor point that brings the arrow closer to your eye makes it easier to aim for short and mid ranges. It also allows for better intuitive/subconscious/instinctive shooting as the sight picture includes arrow, riser and target.

| Thanks for the info.... I guess the different reference point seems a little strange at the moment. I have spend the past year trying to get a consistent point for my recurve, then I go and change it completely. More practice required!!!
