We got this invite to the shoot (with link) ......

Subject: Shoot

Hello Peter,

Great site, looks like you have a lot of fun in Oxfordshire! It's good to see a club doing some serious archery for a change and not the usual run of the mill target archery.

Anyway I'm contacting you to let you know of a new shoot which will be occuring at Stowe Landscaped Gardens just outside Buckingham on September the third that will be hosted by the Pickwick Pepperpots. The shoot is a heavy longbow meet and should become an annual event, full details can be found on my website www.englishwarbow.com/heavy.html I see that you quote the Fraternity of St George a lot, do any of you shoot with the Finsbury Mark and the Pickwick Pepperpots as they do a lot of marks shoots in the midlands.

........ but we've since been told it is cancelled.

If anyone knows otherwise please let me know on here and I will reinstate on our club website.

Incidentally the 'English Warbow' site is very imformative on longbows in general - well worth a read

Mr Peasant ..... Pip Bickerstaffe specialises in the heavy bows (he supplies the Stretton bows - world record at over 200 lbs !!!)

Phil, who do you think you are, you had nothing to do with this shoot so why are you saying you are. This was my shoot and no-one elses. Why is it people have to take credit for other peoples hard work.

I think you'll find that Phil is just repeating information he has been given. Please tone down your attitude. Thank you.

Sorry Dave, but this is not the first time this has happened. It has happened on other forums as well.
