Here's one I made earlier

I've just about finished the junior self longbow (white Ash). I drilled the nocks out to reuse them & I'm pretty happy with the result. Just got to finish the linseed oil, put on the grip & then make a string to fit (you'll notice the temporary one is a little long).

Great looking bow Linecutter.... the recycled nocks look as if they've gone on a treat. Nice tiller as well ....
What's the spec on the bow? (length, poundage etc) and who's the lucky junior who'll be shooting it?

Line cutter
DO NOT USE LINSEED OIL
It will take all the spring out of the wood.
IT WILL BE LIKE TRYING TO SHOOT AN OLD TEA TOWEL
DON'T DO IT

69" string groove to string groove. 18# @ 24". My 11 y.o. daughter gets to wear it out first & then it passes down the family until someone breaks it.

Before that happens I have to make another one. Kids just keep on growing! Plus she shot a Windsor last summer with the previous longbow & the 50yd shots were a perfect scaled down copy of a gents 100yds. Not flattering to your score if you think there's a national record potentially available. It wasn't as available as it looked, but she's got 6 years or so to add 200 points.

Provins: Can't do much about the linseed oil now, but I'm up for suggestions on how to do it better next time.
(I'm happy to have a "soft" shot on the current bows - the kids are too small for high draw weights or major shocks on loosing. I put bicycle handlebar tape in the grip for the same reason, as well as extending the rigid part of the centre as far as possible)

Hi Linecutter
The bow does look nice.
Hope the kids get a lot of fun out of it.
