You are definitely the laminatekid! Actually I was going to give these a go as I like my arrows to be slightly heavier than POC (and stronger) - saw some on ebay but don't know anyone who uses them. The US archery sites tend to have mixed feelings on the hexshafts but they seem like a great idea in principle. I wonder if they would be IFAA/NFAS legal. Would be daft if the're not considering I'm shooting a laminated bow with traditional carbon.

I've tried Hexshafts on two occasions and I have to say I didn't get one single decent arrow. The spines and the weight were all over the place. They're impsssible to barrel ,difficult to add footings and I couldn't keep them straight. Maybe I just had a bad batch.

That's exactly what I mean! You either love them or really hate them. One very respected US target longbow shooter swears by them for the same reasons as Lamkid but many others have the same experience as Yew. I think one problem area is the hexshafts can be prone to taking on moisture if not properly sealed, hence the warping, whereas POC is more oily and naturally more moisture resistant. Guess I'll have to try them for myself.

yep you do have to buy 2 0r 3 dozen to get 6 or 8 matched shafts, but hey you can have that problem with "spine matched" poc sometimes....if you do buy them use the weight matched option, buy more than you need and spend some time with a spine tester...coat them in 3 coats of rustins plastic coating they are worth a try....with regards to gnas/nfas rules....Shhhh no one will notice!!
