New Classification Tables

Yes I know GNAS has not officially published these. However, flyingwhale has worked out what they are likely to be (look in the drop box for the file)...

Have a look guys, what do we think?

By the way, there is a club called "Saints and Sinners" who have put an e-version of the handicap tables online, very good for working out how one performance compares to another, and free!
Have a look under utilities in the dropbox for a file called opps, Furface has accidently posted the official tables

Look at the menu at the top of the page. It's a "box" into which one "drops" files for other people to retrieve.

How interesting! I put this thread in the "Traditional" bit of the forum and so far it looks as though none of the replies is from a fellow longbow archer!

The revamp was only for outdoor classifcations. I assume that for the present recurve barebow would simply be classified in with "Recurve Bows", and compound barebow would be classed in with "Compound Bows".

Longbows of course don't count....as usual.

I've not been shooting long - I didn't know if they were reclassifying Barebow, or classifying it for the first time. If it's for the first time, I curse them for not doing the same for Indoor!

It would be really nice to know what my barebow 496 for a Portsmouth translates into for a barebow specific classification.

I think that would be E-class (need 505 for D-class)...as long as I am correct that you get classed in with all Recurves.

In the end does the classification matter to you that much. Are you happy with the way you are shooting? Do you have others in your club/area tom compare with.

If it gives you a better feeling, the Gents Worcestershire County record shot on club days is 548, but in open toournamements it is 495. For Ladies on club days it is 461.
