| I hadn't realised they did a replacement string specifically for the Viper. Where did you find that? What do you reckon to using D75/Fastflite? |

| From Quicks it's a standard stock item - 14-strand Dacron.Not sure about the FastFlight, though Iseem to recall Macbow suggesting it was OK. Myself, I'll stick to the Dacron.

| i had my viper dlx flatbow braced to about 7 3/4 inches, and it broke, keep a close eye on it above the riser where the limb starts |

| Thanks for the warning. Which is more stressful, a high or low brace height? I thought it might be a high brace height, as you end up with the bow being more curved at full draw. But they tell me that a low brace height gives more power, which suggests that's more stressful. Or is there an optimum, either side of which there is more stress? |

| A higher brace height puts more stress/pre-load on the limbs. A lower brace height makes your arrows act stiffer due to the longer power stroke. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||
