Promising new bow wood
Gene scientists working for Monsanto in America today claimed to have succeeded in genetically combining bamboo (Pseudosasa japonica) with Pacific Yew (Taxus brevifolia) to create a new tree, still known by the catchy project name of "bambyew".
The biomechanical properties of bambyew are currently the subject of frantic investigation. In early trials, Heather Mills' carbon foam limbs were comprehensively beatled.
