Classifications for trad

I always thought that when shooting AFB I would have to fit into the recurve barebow class. But looking at thr Rules of Shooting, I note that there is a traditional recurve class, with rules as per barebow but using wooden arrows and a fixed rest.

Are there any classifications for this class? Indeed, do many competitions have a class for it?

As a recognised class in competition: in field competitions, yes. In target, mostly no, if I recall correctly. Although some of the more informal target tournaments (for example OUIT today) do make awards in the trad recurve category.

Yeah recurve traditional is a field bowstyle. It would be nice if some of the target comps included it ie indoor and the shorter outdoor rounds. More people on the shooting line can't be a bad thing? Saying that I don't fancy having a go at a fita with my AFB, my back couldn't stand all the bending down
