A friend of mine swears by Detol and TCP to clean his Piles. He say's it does sting a bit in the begining though but you soon get used to it.

I would've thought so as well, but then again, would that not make the bond between the point and the shaft a little weaker, than if the point was completely cleared of old glue on the inside?

P.S. Can anyone recommend any good DVDs on arrow making/maintenance?

I'm looking to start making my own arrows and being able to repair/salvage them when required
