Logbow classifications (indoor)? Our club has an internal achievement award scheme, where we give colours awards for different levels of shooting ability. At the moment, we award on the basis of portsmouth scores, because we mostly shoot indoors and no-one shoots anything else. This is all done for recurves, but this year we have a lot of longbows in the club. Since GNAS don't publish classifications for longbow, indoor (?), does anyone have any idea how we could work out equivalent longbow scores, from our recurve levels?

Yes, it's just for tracking progress. For recurves the levels are roughly 450, 500, 520, 540, 555, 570 portsmouths, which fit ok to our clubs usual cross-section of ability. We also have our own badges, it's just an issue of knowing what's a fair equivalent longbow score; we have a peculiarly high number of longbowers this year and haven't really had to worry about it before now ![]() I will have a look at outdoor classifications, try and work out an equivalence.

correct me if i am wrong but havent the GNAS put out what they think a table of longbow (and barebow) classifications should be? because i got some from the Gwent minutes that have come from GNAS i'll dig them out for you if you want

I've got a copy of the updated classifications with me but unless I'm missing something they've only provided longbow classifications for outdoor rounds. We're a university club with no outdoor range so we have to stick to indoor rounds. Have they updated handicap tables at the same time? I don't have the most recent copy of those, just the rules of shooting.

nope, you are right, they only have done outdoor ones, sorry to be of no help
