Longer Arrows

As my arrows are 32'' long broom handles at the mo I would struggle to get longer - actually I did not really explain the problem well - with my 60lb bow I am actually aiming pretty straight at the target in a horizontal plane - the problem is to get the right height (using my knuckle on a reference point) my fist obscures the target then my direction goes astray.

I was thinking of something I have seen at a clout before where the band was on the lower part of the bow and they were obviously aiming that at something.

Perhaps my only option is to use the bigger fletched arrows that I have for 100yds, at least that way I will be aiming higher and so can actually see the target.

Another suggestion I have heard is to use over-spined arrows, for a RH archer this means that the bow hand would be more to the right of the target, making it easier to line up the knuckles. Never tried this myself.

Not a bad idea

Thanks Steve - sounds like a reasonable idea.

Aiming straight is nice - Obviously the ideal would be to somehow increase the arrow speed to be able to aim at the flag - I may try smaller fletchings or perhaps overdrawing slightly and will report back if any luck
