Is there a limit to how much I can twist the string?

I have heard about the string twisting to modify BH. I have a question: Is there a limit to which one can twist a string?

I mean something like that: by twisting it may be shortened let's say 1 inch. More than that, and the string will not behave very well...

Cheers

If you over do it the string will start to knot up. It does need some twists in it to give it a nice rounded profile. The limit is down to the ability of the string to stay nice and round and knot free.

Thx,

Btw my string is made of some synthetic strands, it's definitely not natural...

Cheers

The more twists you have in a string then the poorer the string performance (lower arrow speed) so as few twists as possible is what you want. For whatever reason 20-40 is the usual recommended range though you can certainly get away with less.
