| I agree with all of the above. Once you've made a bow, you will be hooked... Keep your eyes open, examine every Yew tree you see in the hope of finding a limb 7' long, 4" diameter minimum at the top, not twisted with only tiny branches. The limb I found to make mine was growing up with three other limbs very close so there were few branches growing between them. (before you take a limb be sure to get permission from the land over ).I've use Elm too from way back when there was a lot of fallen Elm from Dutch Elm disease, it followed the string but was ok. | Thanks for the info,I am hooked. One bow is ash/bubinga/ash, the second is ash/purpleheart/ash.glued with poylmite, 30 gms per bow.I bought the War bow DVD, they make it look easy. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
