| FITA Longbow I live in France and shoot widely to quite a high standard in all four of the field disciplines that we have here. This is all under the umbrella of the FITA affiliated FFTA - the french equivalent of the GNAS , which is also FITA affiliated.
When I shoot my Flatbow here in France it is classed as a longbow (as per the FITA regulations) and so there is no problem - when we shoot for a place in the team for the World 3d international championships then it is classed as a longbow.
BUT I am told that if I come to shoot anything under GNAS rules in the UK then I must be classed as a Barebow Recurve as it does not meet the British Longbow Society regulations for a longbow.
As you seem to be now having 3d international regulation shoots over there does that mean that I can now shoot longbow class with my flatbow ( As per the FITA regulations for these shoots) or will I still be banned, even though it is within the international regulations ?
Or is this the reason that no UK team has been sent to the World 3di Championships yet ? |
