Exotic horn nocks

Hi All. Any ideas for exotic material for horn nocks on longbow? I am going on a longbow making course and I have seen some lovely creamy ivory coloured horn nocks that the bowyer made and put on another bow. The material turns out to be Warthog Tusk - I wonder if anyone knows a supply? Thank you.

You seem to be sorted on BB, but I was wondering if you could give me more information on the course you're going on?

Cheers

horn nocks

Big John,

This ebay seller sells ready to fit horn nocks from time to time. Recently they sold a nice pair of albino horn nocks:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...MEWA%3AIT&rd=1

If you like the look - you could contact the seller - I think they are going to be ordering some more.

In terms of sourcing unusual horn - might be worth checking this site out:

Hope it helps,

Dave

Thanks Dave but a member of BB is sending me some warthog tusks which I'll probably send on to my bowyer.

Jimbo,

It is a 2 day one-on-one course with Chris Boyton at his workshop in Middlesex. Chris made my tri-lam bow in 2000 and I am really looking forward to spending 2 days with him....oh and getting a bow at the end of it.
