Thumbs up Masters of the Barebow DVD

Nine of America's top traditional archers and bowhunters each discuss and demonstrate their equipment, tuning, aiming methods, form and practice regimes in front of the camera.
Selfbows to the latest high tech recurves, wood arrows or carbons, tab or glove, aim or instinctive is all covered. The one thing they all have in common is shooting without sights but each has their own unique way to get the arrows on target whether purely instinctive or system shooters.
I found multi champion Rod Jenkins' section the most interesting and helpful - his demonstration and explanation of his particular gap method is superb - definitely something I will be trying at the weekend.
Instinctive archers will also find some great stuff on the DVD which shows that with good form and proper practise you can be consistently accurate.
However the main point that really came across was no matter what bow or aiming system all of these top shots obviously love archery and enjoy shooting.
And even though the actual shooting is incredibly good the outtakes show no matter how good these people are, they are also human and make mistakes.
I think producer Denny Sturgis Jnr has done a great service to traditional archery with this DVD. Well worth buying. Cost is about $25 and available from 3 Rivers Archery or the Tradtalk & Tradgang forums.

Great review MB, I'll stick it on my Christmas list (along with the new AFB, new wooden arrows and new everything else. Oh why couldn't I have been the son of multi-millionaires? )

Decided to splash out on this DVD and I've got to say I am well impressed. All the archers are very articulate about their chosen method and it's certainly given me a lot to think about next time I'm in the woods.

I did have to smile on the out-takes when the makers beeped out the words 'damn' and 'hell' What are those Americans like, eh?

I got it from here... www.lancasterarchery.com

I paid about 24 dollars for the DVD and 11 dollars for the postage. Thats less than 20 quid total with the current exchange rate.
