Longbows for children

My son has been shooting for the past year with a 54'' 18lb trainer bow. I also have a longbow and he is interested in getting one also. Does anybody know of a longbow maker who would do a proper longbow for a child.

I'm sure I've seen them mentioned on one of the makers websites, but I'm boggered if I can find it now. Saying that, I wouldn't be surprised if most of the custom makers couldn't knock one up for you (for your son).

Will keep my ears open for you, children grow out of long bows so asking around might throw something up.
What type of archery do you do and what sort of draw weight are you looking for.
Radars wife is currently looking at a company that do a 25# flatbow for about £65.
Might be worth considering if your doing field.

They do this bow from 15lb up to 30lb and as Provins says I've gone for a 25lb bow, most of the websites I looked on started at 30lb which was too much for me.

I should be getting my bow this morning, will let you know what it's like

Thanks for all the information supplied ..... now I have to decide if I buy or make a bow. The second option could be an interesting challange.
