I have a few questions...

1) what poundage is your bow?
2) what diameter was the shaft?
3) did you have a horn reinforced nock?
4) did you bind around the nock?
5) you alright?

Glad you're ok.
It looks as if the nock has been cut with instead of across the grain. If the nock had been cut across the grain that shouldn't happen, horn inserts or not.
