You really need to raise your noking point a bit. A glove will stop the pain but the fletchings will still be using your finger as a spring board each time you shoot, which will not help consistency.

Also shooting with a bare hand means you can feel when you get the shoulder of the pile back to your hand.

Absolutely 100% correct. As I said earlier I don't wear a glove for that reason.
Also when I'm coaching longbow archers the first thing I do is make sure that they are not wearing a glove on the bow hand

The ones I make are in soft leather and fit over your bow hand first finger. The arrow rests on it and fletchings do not come in contact with your finger. If the nocking point is set correctly I would not be making them!!!

ok I will try raising it this weekend - it may actually be my bow hand creeping slightly higher between ends.
As only started to happen after a bit - thought it was wear and tear but perhaps my grip moving up the bow 1/8th" could be the culprit.

Great fun nonetheless!
