| | ViewsWelcome to the AIUK Archery Wiki Submission GuidelinesFrom AIUK WikiThis page will outline the submission guidelines for the AIUK project. Broadly speaking the same rules apply on the wiki as apply in the main forum.
[edit] Background to the ProjectThe original concept behind the AIUK Wiki was to provide a place where many the threads on specific subjects on AIUK could be digested into a managable and readable format. Therefore, try to link your articles to as many relevant discussions as possible on AIUK. The key here is relevant discussions - try to avoid linking to threads that contain little, or poor, information. [edit] Content of ArticlesAll content submitted should not breach copyright laws and should be referenced as fully as is possible. Please do not copy material exactly as it appears elsewhere (on either the internet or in published material) or it will be removed - try to rewrite it as well as you can. Referencing can either be in the form of links to websites or references to published material. If you are unsure how to reference the content you are adding then please make as full an attempt as you can and the Wiki Supervisors will format the references properly. [edit] No copyrighted or trademarked materialYou can't post copyrighted material or a reproduction of registered trade/service marks without permission from the author or owner. For example, this means that, without prior permission, you may not post a verbatim copy of an equipment review from an archery magazine or e-zine, or an image of a manufacturer's trademarked logo. [edit] No defamatory statementsDefamatory statements are, for example, statements that contain certain kinds of untrue factual information about a person or a company that is derogatory. As a general rule, avoid repeating vague and unsubstantiated rumors about someone or some company. Stick to your experiences and your opinions, based on what you know not what you have heard on the grapevine. [edit] Personal AttacksNo flames, personal attacks or contentious off-topic comments: The idea is to make this a pleasant environment to discuss archery, not a schoolyard, or name-calling and rock-throwing festival. [edit] AdvertisingNo advertising or selling of any kind allowed in the forums. If you are interested in advertising, contact the site owners. Anything considered to be advertising or spam will be removed without notice. This will include links to retailers from wiki articles - unless the retailer's website or catalogue has been used as a major source for information in the article, and the information is not available elsewhere. [edit] FormattingPlease see the Formatting Guidelines page for further information on what should be included in an AIUK Wiki article and how they should be formatted. For specific information on formatting and wiki markup (the markup language used to edit and format articles) please see the Formatting Help page and the WikiMedia advanced editing page. [edit] The Wiki SupervisorsTo ensure that content submitted to AIUK meets the Submission and Formatting Guidelines, and to help with the administration of the AIUK Wiki Project, some senior members of the AIUK community have been selected as Wiki Supervisors. These members have been selected due to their extensive technical knowledge of archery, and some also have an editorial background. As the AIUK community expands, and use of the AIUK Wiki increases, it is likely that further members will be selected as Wiki Supervisors. [edit] Please NoteAll contributors to the wiki should be aware that, although only AIUK members can edit the wiki, the material will be viewable by all internet users. At the moment the Administration Pages are protected and can only be edited by the Wiki Supervisors. Please see the AIUK_Wiki:Protected page guidelines for further information. |
